Counsellor Mohd. Zahile bin Ismail and First Secretary Dayana Anith Binti Suhainih, representing the Office of the Agricultural Counsellor, Embassy of Malaysia in Tokyo, visited the APO Secretariat on 10 December for a courtesy call.
It was an opportunity for an amicable conversation covering a range of topics, including Malaysia's agriculture, APO programs on the agriculture sector, and Malaysia's participation in APO projects, culminating in a discussion of potential collaborations with the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security of Malaysia.

APO Secretary-General Dr. Indra Pradana Singawinata warmly welcomed the officials to the Secretariat, inviting them to learn about the APO and its activities and offer their insights on the agriculture sector. He hoped for the continuation of the conversation and expressed interest in future collaborations with Malaysia's Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security.

The APO Secretariat gave an organizational overview explaining the APO's mission, key roles, and activities. Two programs were highlighted as examples in the agriculture sector, the Demonstration Project on Improvement of Productivity in Greenhouse Vegetable Production in Vietnam and Center of Excellence on Climate-smart Agriculture hosted by the National Agriculture and Food Research Organization of Japan, to illustrate how the APO is forming partnerships with member economies' agriculture sectors in cooperation with other organizations to produce tangible results and address issues stemming from climate change.

At the end of the visit, Counsellor Mohd. Zahile bin Ismail thanked Secretary-General Dr. Indra and APO Secretariat staff for the presentation and discussion, appreciating the information and insights shared during the visit, and hoped for continued cooperation with the APO Secretariat.
