Celebrating Friends of UNICEF

July 30 is International Day of Friendship, and that means something big here at UNICEF! Sometimes challenges can seem insurmountable before friends light the way. And that's exactly what our incredible supporters do. The act of donating to UNICEF Canada means your friendship extends a helping hand to millions of children around the world, including in 200 countries where humanitarian crises pose extreme risk.

During emergencies last year,donor support helped UNICEF assess and treat 120 million children for malnutrition, vaccinate 30 million children for measles, provide 20 million children with access to education, and so much more.

Behind every results number are real children and families who are holding on as their world falls apart. It's about kids like 10-year-old Naba in war-affected Sudan, who fled Khartoum to find stability, nurturing, friendship and fun at a UNICEF-supported safe space (Makanna).

Sudan currently has the largest child displacement crisis in the world.

Following more than one year of escalated conflict, close to 4 million children have been displaced as water shortages and a likely famine cause more danger. UNICEF solutions like this Makanna are giving hope, helping to fulfil children's essential needs, and protecting their rights.
