NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC AND REQUEST FOR INFORMATION
LAS 35265
SOUTHEAST ROADBUILDERS

Subject to AS 38.05.850, the Southeast Regional Land Office has received an application for the following:

APPLICANT: SOUTHEAST ROADBUILDERS

PROJECT NAME: LAS 35265

GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION: Within the material site boundary of ADL 107654 in Whale Pass, Prince of Wales Island, Alaska. Located 43 miles north of Craig, Alaska.

LEGAL DESCRIPTION: Section 2, Township 67 South, Range 79 East, Copper River Meridian

REQUESTED ACTIVITY: Southeast Roadbuilders (applicant) is requesting a land use permit for the placement and use of a rock crusher and fuel storage inside the material site boundary of ADL 107654, Whale Pass Tract A in Whale Pass. The permit would be for the purpose of producing aggregate material in support for the Neck Lake highway reconstruction efforts. The material extraction, any stockpiling, and use of heavy equipment associated with this project is authorized under a separate material sale contract, ADL 109390, issued to Southeast Roadbuilders.

PROPOSED DATES OF USE:
Start: January 1, 2025
End: December 31, 2029

DEADLINE FOR COMMENTS: October 15, 2024

The public is invited to comment on this activity. The purpose of this notice is to gather input before a decision is made on this activity. To ensure consideration, written comments must be received by the Division of Mining, Land and Water at the Southeast Regional Land Office, 400 Willoughby Avenue/PO Box 111020, Juneau, AK 99811-1020 on or before 5:00 PM on the date noted above. After review and adjudication, we may issue an authorization with stipulations for the activity. The activity may be modified during the review and adjudication process.
