Home Improvement & Preservation Program (HIPP) applications will open from August 19th to August 30th. That is right around the corner!
Leading up to applications opening, Housing Department staff are hosting engagement workshops to help residents complete their applications. Engagement workshops start tonight and continue through August 16, 2024. Events are available all across the City, in English and Spanish, virtually and in person. The Home Improvement & Preservation Major Systems Repair Program (MSRP) provides home repair assistance up to $24,000, in the form of a forgivable loan, to eligible households for major systems repair. This can include things like replacing an HVAC system, doing electrical or plumbing work, accessibility repairs, and more.
Eligible applicants: Single-family property owners residing in the City of Dallas whose household income is at or below 80% of the Area Median Income. You can see these limits in the chart here.
What is needed to apply: Submit an application packet either in person or via email, which includes 4 items: the completed and signed application, a copy of your deed or proof of ownership, state identification such as an ID or driver's license, and social security cards for all household members.
How to apply: To apply in person visit the Housing Department's walk-up window at City Hall (1500 Marilla St) 2CN, between 8 am on August 19th and 5 pm on August 30th. No exceptions.
To apply via email, send the full application packet between 8 am on August 19th and 5 pm on August 30th to [email protected]. If applying via email, you must receive a response email confirmation of receipt to complete the process.
