Upper Ramble opening celebration set for Dec. 30

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - The City of Fayetteville is excited to announce the opening of the Upper Ramble, the final stage of a new park and public spaces project known as The Ramble.

In celebration of this milestone, the public is invited to attend an opening ceremony set for Monday, Dec. 30, at 2 p.m.

The event will be held in the center of the Upper Ramble, along the water feature. Attendees are encouraged to use active transportation, but those opting to drive can park nearby at the West Avenue Parking Deck. Please use marked crosswalks and trail crossings when approaching the park.

The Ramble is a series of dynamic new outdoor public spaces along the Razorback Greenway in the heart of downtown Fayetteville, creating destinations for residents and visitors alike. Linking the City's key cultural institutions - including the Walton Arts Center, TheatreSquared, Nadine Baum Studios, Fayetteville Public Library and the University of Arkansas' Windgate Art and Design District - The Ramble showcases and celebrates ecology, community, art and culture.

The overall project was built in phases. The Lower Ramble, located between Center and Prairie streets, opened in September 2022. The Upper Ramble, located between Center and Dickson streets, marks the completion of the overall project.

This project, formerly known as the Cultural Arts Corridor, is part of the 2019 voter approved Bond package. Project designs were made possible by a grant from the Walton Family Foundation's Design Excellence Program.

More information on the history, phases and components of the project is available at: https://www.fayetteville-ar.gov/3456/Cultural-Arts-Corridor.
