Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism

The EU's Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) has the potential to accelerate industrial decarbonisation globally while also protecting the competitiveness of sustainable European businesses in EU and global markets. However, it is not working as intended and targeted reforms are needed to support compliance and ensure it is effective when the definitive regime begins in 2026.
