Update STIP and Course Guides project

Update STIP and Course Guides project

19 August 2024News item

Over the past academic year, the STIP and Course Guide Project has relocated all kinds of information for students from the 'old' course guides and STIP pages. This post gives an update and answers the most common questions.

The STIP and Study Guides Project has been working with two task forces, including a delegation from all faculties. The Osiris task force has already fully completed the transfer of the course guides to Osiris. On 1 July last, the study guides went live in Osirs' education catalogue. The STIP taskforce has currently harmonised and migrated 90% of the information from faculty STIP pages to the new website environment, Drupal. The remaining 10% consists mainly of information from faculty international offices. The aim is to complete this in Q3.

Transition phase

The old Iprox (STIP) websites are still partially online at the moment, but will be stripped down as far as possible by the faculty communications departments in the coming weeks. We are aware that this currently makes the online landscape a bit messy, also for students. Students have been informed about this via this news item on important changes in the online landscape for students, which also has been shared via the student news letter.

Google vs. search function ru.nl

Since we are currently still in a transition phase, many search results in (search engines like) Google will give incorrect - or already deleted - results. We therefore advise you to use the internal search function on the website, at the top right of your screen. This works a lot better on the new site than on the old site.

ru.nl/students - for general and faculty information

All non-cohort-specific information for current students can now be found on the central website under www.ru.nl/studenten. The 'all information' button takes you to the category overview. Here, all information is clustered at subject level, with faculty-level exceptions also listed on each page - if applicable. As a result, all information on a given topic is clustered on one page, rather than spread across 6 faculty pages. See here e.g. an example of the page on applying for your diploma.

Do you need to change faculty-specific information on one of the pages under www.ru.nl/studenten? If so, please indicate this to the Drupal Key-user within your own faculty communications department. For changes to 'general' information - which is the same for all faculties - please switch to communicatie[at] ru.nl(communicatie[at]ru[dot]nl)

Osiris - for programme-specific information

Programme-specific information has moved from Iprox to the study guides in the education catalogue in Osiris. The education catalogue went live on 1 July. The old study guides, including those from past years, remain accessible via Archive Web. Please note that this information is no longer updated.

The education catalogue has an open 'external' environment, and an internal environment. The internal environment requires a login.
