PBBM IN NEGROS OCCIDENTAL

Governor Bong Lacson welcomed President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. who led the ceremonial distribution of cash assistance to farmers and fisherfolks from various cities and towns of Negros Occidental, through the Presidential Assistance for Farmers and Fisherfolk (PAFF) Program.

The beneficiaries were assessed by the Dept. of Agriculture to be heavily affected by the El Niño Phenomenon, and received P10,000 each.

The event was held at the University of Negros Occidental - Recoletos (UNO-R) in Bacolod City, today.

In his message, Gov. Lacson said that Negros Occidental is fortunate that despite the seemingly inescapable consequences of climate change, there's a National Government that is led by a compassionate President who has a heart for the farmers.

"I extend our deepest appreciation and thanks for including our province as one of the beneficiaries of the Presidential Assistance to Farmers, Fisherfolk, and Farm Families. The financial aid and additional resources that you will provide to those severely affected by El Niño and drought will result in significant relief and bring hope to many in our province," he said.

In addressing the Negrense farmers, Gov.

"The governor also said that with the signing of the NIR Act into law and the distribution of assistance today, Negros Occidental can always count on PBBM to stand with the province through challenges and triumphs alike.*#PBBMinNegrosOccidental#AbanseNegrense
