press release

On October 5, 2024, State Police members arrested Chrystal King, age 65, of Wanakena, NY, for driving while intoxicated.

On October 5, 2024, at approximately 9:05 p.m., Troopers responded to County Route 61 in the town of Fine for a suspicious vehicle complaint. Troopers arrived on the scene and observed a black 2023 Jeep stuck in the mud off the roadway on the east shoulder, with no one in the vehicle. Troopers searched the area and located a female walking with two other individuals helping her. The female was identified as King, also the registered owner of the abandoned vehicle. Troopers interviewed King regarding her vehicle off the roadway. She had fallen asleep, causing her to go off the roadway. She had cuts and bleeding but, did not need medication attention. While interviewing King, she was showing signs of impairment. Troopers administered SFSTs, which she failed.

King was arrested and transported to SP Star Lake, where she provided a breath sample of .16% BAC. She was released on an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Fine Court, for a later date in November.
