Rep. Sandra Scott Named Chairwoman of the National Foundation for Women Legislators

ATLANTA - State Representative Sandra Scott (D-Rex) recently was nominated to serve as the chairwoman of the National Foundation for Women Legislators (NFWL). In addition to this nomination, Rep. Scott also obtained $200,000 in funding to support NFWL initiatives to help further the organization's capacity to engage women in public policy discussions.

"Since joining NFWL in 2011 and serving on its board since 2018, I have witnessed firsthand the power of this organization to inspire and elevate women in government. I look forward to working alongside my esteemed colleagues to foster meaningful change and amplify the voices of women leaders across the nation."

NFWL aims to connect, support and inspire elected women at all levels of government, and, as chairwoman, Rep. Scott will continue her work to advance the NFWL's mission. Rep. Scott was previously the chair and a board member of the Recruitment and Engagement Committee of NFWL. Rep. Scott is an Army veteran, served as the Chief Deputy Whip for the Georgia House Democratic Caucus and was the former chairwoman of the Clayton County Delegation.

Representative Sandra Scott represents the citizens of District 76, which includes portions of Clayton County. She was elected to the House of Representatives in 2010 and currently serves as the Minority Caucus Chief Deputy Whip. She also serves on the Banks & Banking, Defense & Veterans Affairs, Human Relations & Aging, Insurance and Reapportionment and Redistricting committees.

Representative Viola Davis represents the citizens of District 87, which includes portions of DeKalb County. She was elected to the House of Representatives in 2018 and currently serves on the Defense & Veterans Affairs, Insurance, Interstate Cooperation, Natural Resources & Environment and Urban Affairs committees.

Representative Kim Schofield represents the citizens of District 63, which includes portions of Fulton County. She was elected to the House of Representatives in 2017 and currently serves as the Secretary of the Urban Affairs Committee. She also serves on the Creative Arts & Entertainment, Health, Interstate Cooperation and Small Business Development committees.
