SCDOT opens lane on I-85 Northbound in Cherokee County

The South Carolina Department of Transportation has opened the third northbound lane on I-85 from mile marker 80 to mile marker 90. This project is part of the I-85 Widening and Improvement Project.

Secretary of Transportation, Justin Powell said, "I want to thank the traveling public and especially the residents of Cherokee and Spartanburg Counties for their patience we work to complete this project. I look forward to seeing more progress on this project and others that help move our people and our state forward."

SCDOT encourages drivers to continue to use caution as crews will still be working to put the final pavement markings on the section of road.
