President's Welcome to the 2024-2025 Academic Year at Mount St. Joseph University

At the start of a new academic year, President H. James Williams, Ph.D. welcomes students, faculty and staff back together for the Fall 2024 Semester.

Students;

It is my great pleasure to welcome all returning students and all of the newest Lions to campus! Mount St. Joseph University is an extraordinary place, and we are thrilled that you have chosen the Mount as your academic home.

For almost 104 years, the Mount has provided students with a truly unique and personalized educational experience that empowers them to thrive and achieve their fullest potential. Our deeply committed Faculty and Staff work tirelessly to ensure that students are supported and graduate well-prepared for their careers or their next academic pursuits. As a Catholic academic institution grounded in the spiritual values and vision of the Sisters of Charity of Cincinnati, we also prepare students for lives of purpose and meaning. Mount graduates make a difference in their professions and in the lives of others, driven by their deep sense of caring for all persons and commitment to the common good.

During this Academic Year, whether you are an undergraduate or a graduate student, you will have boundless opportunities in the classroom and beyond that will shape your student experience and your future. My sincere hope is that you will immerse yourself in all that the Mount Community offers you. Connect with your peers outside of the classroom. Attend a Mount music or theater performance. Grab lunch with a classmate at the new Joe Lion's Grille, in the Harrington Center. Attend a program sponsored by The Center for Mission & Belonging. Plan to take part in Homecoming events on October 18th and 19th. Connect with Faculty members during their office hours. If you find yourself facing academic challenges, seek assistance early, by contacting your Faculty Advisor or by obtaining guidance on available resources from either the Office of Student Affairs or The Learning Center. Immerse yourself and become fully engaged in the Mount Community - let each new experience propel you toward your fullest potential and enrich your life, as it has done for Mount students for more than a century.

I am filled with joy and hope for the coming year. I look forward to seeing all of you on campus very soon, as we continue to Climb Higher, Together!

Go Lions!

Sincerely,

H. James Williams, Ph.D.
