Microsurfacing to Begin on Various Routes in Butler County with Lane Restrictions in Jackson Township, Butler County

​Indiana, PA - The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is announcing the upcoming lane restrictions for microsurfacing on multiple routes in Jackson Township, Butler County.

August 21, 2024 during daylight hours starting after 9AM on Route 528 (Lindsay Road) from the intersection of Route 68 to Route 19, there will be single lane closures with flagging operations. Work is weather dependent. Motorists should expect delays due to lane closures.

Other routes to be impacted include Freedom Road and Franklin Road with dates to be announced.

This project is the Micro-surfacing treatment to various routes in southwestern Butler County and other miscellaneous construction. Microsurfacing is the application of a mixture of water, asphalt emulsion, aggregate (very small, crushed rock), and chemical additives to an existing asphalt concrete pavement surface.

Contractor, Suit-Kote Corporation of Cortland, NY will be completing the $1.8 million project.
