Road Closure Scheduled for Railroad Work in the City of Erie

A section of Pittsburgh Avenue (Route 4017) in the City of Erie will soon be temporarily closed to through traffic to allow for railroad repairs.

The roadway will be closed between 15th Street and 21st Street from October 21 to October 31, 2024, while CSX Transportation works on the railroad crossing near the intersection with West 16th Street.

A detour will be posted using 38th Street (Route 4016), Zuck Road (Route 4015), Route 20, Route 5, and Peninsula Drive.

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras.
