The 2024 Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank (WB) have concluded, bringing together leaders from various countries' economic sectors, senior representatives from international organizations, and financial institutions under one roof. The IMF/WB Annual Meetings serve as an effective platform not only for exchanging experiences and discussing global challenges but also for establishing new collaborations and partnerships.
As the Alternate Governor of Armenia at the IMF/WB Boards of Governors, Deputy Minister of Finance Eduard Hakobyan held separate meetings with WB Vice President Antonella Bassani, IMF Deputy Managing Director Bo Li, senior officials from both the IMF and WB, foreign counterparts, and representatives from the financial sector.
During the meetings, the Deputy Minister discussed Armenia's economic development strategies, presenting the country's development vision and goals. The meetings also focused on global financial challenges, measures, and opportunities for ensuring economic stability.
Eduard Hakobyan also presented Armenia's socio-economic situation, the pace of economic growth, and the progress of reforms. The importance of promoting investments, increasing competitiveness in global markets, and strengthening social programs was emphasized. Furthermore, Eduard Hakobyan discussed the support of international financial institutions for Armenia's development processes.
