October 7, 2024- Charges have been filed against two suspects in the fatal shooting of a man at 11655 Briar Forest Drive about 8:20 p.m. on June 7.

One suspect, Jylon Nathaniel Dukes, 20, is charged with capital murder in the 262nd State District Court. A July booking photo of Dukes, who is not in custody, is attached to this news release.

A second suspect, Kamari Green, 19, is charged with capital murder in the same court. A booking photo of Green is attached to this news release.

The victim is identified as Mario Jordan, 17.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C. Ponder and Detective A. Ledford reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at an apartment complex at the above address and found an unresponsive male with a gunshot wound. Offices provided medical assistance until Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the male, later identified as Mr. Jordan, deceased.

A preliminary investigation and witness statements determined Jordan was followed home by two male suspects, who then took the victim's jewelry and shot him. They fled the scene on foot.

At that time, the suspects were described only as two black males believed to be in their early 20s.

Further investigation identified Dukes and Green as suspects in this case. On June 7, a warrant was issued for Green's arrest. He was arrested on July 25 and booked into the Harris County Jail.

On October 3, Dukes was charged. He remains at-large and is believed to be in San Antonio.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Jylon Dukes or in this case is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or speak anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
