After being advised by Shelter staff of the correct way to surrender a pet with Pinal Animal Care and Control, a resident recently removed his dog's collar, left him on the shelter campus, and sped off. The dog, later identified as Nibbles, a large mixed-breed dog, was visibly terrified and confused by what had just happened. PCACC staff carefully approached Nibbles and was able to leash Nibbles and find him a kennel safely. Staff members later identified the owner, and he was fined for abandonment. Nibbles was later reunited with family.

PCACC does require appointments for pet surrenders. You can learn more about pet rehoming on our website or call us at 520-509-3555 for questions.
