As a follow-up to Lakewood's Oct. 8 College Fair, parents and teens are invited to attend two free informational workshops to be held at the Lakewood Youth Center on Tuesday and Wednesday, Oct. 15-16.

TUESDAY, OCT. 15

The How to Pay for College Without Going Broke Workshop will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 15 from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Skip Dawson of College Planning of Greater Long Beach will share a presentation on customizing a plan for meeting college costs, lowering out-of-pocket costs, and finding the best financial fit for families that also matches the needs of the student.

WEDNESDAY, OCT. 16

The College Information & Admissions Workshop will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 16 from 7:15 to 8:30 p.m.

Independent college admissions expert John H. Wilson, III, director of the highly regarded West Angeles Education and Enrichment Program will discuss the costs, processes and requirements for successful college enrollment, including CSU/UC applications, the Digital SAT, the FAFSA, and a robust Q & A session.
