Regulatory Commission of Alaska: Notice of Utility Application (South Shore Waterfront)

Notice of Utility Application

The REGULATORY COMMISSION OF ALASKA gives notice that on July 17, 2024, South Shore Waterfront, LLC (South Shore Waterfront), filed an application for an initial finding of public convenience and necessity for new public water or sewer systems. Docket No. U-24-022 was opened to address this matter.

South Shore Waterfront intends to construct a water system to provide utility service to 22 single-family homes on the south shore of Big Lake. The subdivision will be located on the southern shore of Big Lake and is platted as Township 17N, Range 4W, Section 35, Lot C9. This is east of S Jeanette St, north of W Susitna Pkw and east of South Jay Sedor St. South Shore Waterfront also states it has submitted the proposed system to the Department of Environmental Conservation for approval to construct.

A person who proposes to file an application to furnish the same, or substantially the same, service or facility to essentially the same service area or route, in whole or in part, thus creating the potential for mutually exclusive applications must file a notice of intent to file a competing application by August 23, 2024. The person must then file the competing application by October 23, 2024. If no notice of intent to file a competing application is filed by August 23, 2024, the Commission will proceed to grant or deny the application.

No motions for waiver or petitions for confidentiality were filed with the application. The Commission has not assessed the completeness of the application. The Commission may determine whether the application is complete by August 7, 2024.
