PennDOT's Westmoreland County Maintenance Update – Week of October 7, 2024

Uniontown, PA - Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Westmoreland County Maintenance Manager Dave Forkey has announced the following tentative work plan for the week of October 7. All maintenance activities depend on weather and operations.

Motorists can anticipate detours, flaggers, moving operations, and/or single-lane restrictions. Please drive cautiously through all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring headlights. Safety is everyone's responsibility.

Box culvert replacement:

• Route 4089 (Hulton Road) in Allegheny Township

Crack sealing:

• Route 3091 (New Stanton-Youngwood Road) in New Stanton

Delineation:

• Route 2016 (Youngstown Ridge Avenue) in Unity Township

Edge paving:

• Route 3035 (Mendon Road) in South Huntington Township
• Route 981 (Second Street) in South Huntingdon Township

Flushing pipes:

• Route 711 in Fairfield Township

Fog sealing:

• Route 3077 (Penn Adamsburg Road) in Hempfield Township
• Route 4015 (Sun Valley Road) in Hempfield Township
• Route 4012 (Brush Creek Road) in Hempfield Township
• Route 4010 (Penn Manor Road) in Hempfield Township

Patching:

• Route 4041 (Denmark Manor Road) in Penn Township
• Route 711 in Cook Township
• Route 1033 (State Park Road) in Derry Township
• Route 2025 (Ankney Hill Road) in Mount Pleasant Township

Pipe installation:

• Route 4034 (Orr Avenue) in Allegheny Township

Pipe replacement:

• Route 1017 in Fairfield Township

Shoulder stabilization:

• Route 130 in Unity Township

Sweeping:

• Interstate 70 in South Huntington Township
• Various routes countywide

Crews will pick litter, replace downed and update signs, and address work orders on various state routes countywide.
