PennDOT's Fayette County Maintenance Update - Week of October 7, 2024

Uniontown, PA - Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Fayette County Maintenance Manager Jason L. Spangler has announced the following tentative work plan for the week of October 7. All maintenance activities depend on weather and operations.

Motorists can anticipate detours, flaggers, moving operations, and/or single-lane restrictions. Please drive cautiously through all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring headlights. Safety is everyone's responsibility.

Base repair:

  • Route 2006 (Five Forks Road) in Wharton Township
  • Route 2011 (Dinnerbell Road) in Wharton Township

Boom mowing:

  • Route 4005 (Grindstone Road) in Jefferson Township

Bridge replacement:

  • Route 1027 (Richey Road) in Bullskin Township
    • Road closed. Posted detour:
      • ​Route 982 (Pleasant Valley Road)
      • Route 1025 (Country Club Road)
      • Route 1027 (Richey Road)
      • Route 1046 (Country Club Lane)
      • Route 1048 (Longanecker Road)

Brushing:

  • Various routes countywide

Pipe flushing:

  • Route 40 (National Pike) in North Union Township

Pipe replacement:

  • Route 4008 (Filbert Orient Road) in Redstone Township
  • Route 4010 (Searights Herbert Road) in Redstone Township

Sign upgrading:

  • Various routes countywide

Crews will pick litter, replace downed and update signs, and address work orders on various state routes countywide.

PennDOT has a toll-free number-1-800-FIX-ROAD (1-800-349-7623)-for residents to report road maintenance concerns and the locations of dead deer on state highways.

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices by calling 5-1-1 or by following regional X alerts.
