Appointment of Chairpersons to the new Local Community Safety Partnerships for Dublin City

Dublin City Council Seeks Chairpersons for New Local Community Safety PartnershipsDublin City Council has announced a call for expressions of interest for the role of Chairperson in the newly established Local Community Safety Partnerships (LCSPs) for Dublin City. This initiative comes as part of the implementation of the Policing, Security and Community Safety Act 2024, which aims to enhance community safety through a whole-of-government approach.Five LCSPs will be set up in Dublin City, mirroring the current administration structures:

1. Central Area
2. North Central Area
3. North West Area
4. South Central Area
5. South East Area

These partnerships will bring together residents, community representatives, business and education leaders, public service providers, and local councillors to address community safety issues specific to each area.Key aspects of the Chairperson role include:

• Providing leadership and strategic direction
• Facilitating informed decision-making tailored to community needs
• Developing and implementing the Local Community Safety Plan
• Representing the LCSP to the public and stakeholders

The ideal candidates should demonstrate:

• Proven ability in building consensus and effective communication
• Experience in influencing diverse stakeholders
• Strategic leadership skills in high-profile environments
• Understanding of community safety issues
• Capacity to work in sensitive areas under public scrutiny
• Large partnership process experience and facilitation skills
• Impartiality

The Chairperson position is a voluntary role with a three-year term.
