PSC Commission Conference/DSM Goals Hearing Set For Tuesday

TALLAHASSEE - The Florida Public Service Commission (PSC) will hold a Commission Conference on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at 9:30 a.m.

Items scheduled for consideration at the Commission Conference can be found here. Public comment may be taken on any item noticed for public participation. Any interested person wanting to participate on any item should contact the PSC's Office of General Counsel at 850-413-6199.

Following the Commission Conference, the PSC will begin a hearing to review the conservation goals of Florida Power & Light Company; Duke Energy Florida, LLC; Tampa Electric Company; Florida Public Utilities Company; JEA; and Orlando Utilities Commission. At the hearing, the Commission will consider the efficiency, costs, incentives, and contributions of each utility's conservation goals. August 7-9 have been reserved to continue the hearing, if needed.

The Florida Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act (FEECA), requires the PSC to adopt goals to increase the efficiency of energy consumption, increase the development of demand-side renewable energy systems, reduce and control the growth rates of electric consumption and weather-sensitive peak demand, and encourage development of demand-side renewable energy resources. Pursuant to Section 366.82(6), F.S., the Commission must review a utility's conservation goals at least every five years.
