Investigation Update: On Friday, November 8, 2024, officers assigned to the Auto Theft Unit were monitoring late light revelers gathering at number of different Boston neighborhoods. While officers were on patrol, they responded to an Officer in Trouble call in the area of 485 Canterbury Street. Officers observed approximately 80 reveler vehicles gathered on Canterbury Street. As the crowd dispersed, officers documented all of the vehicles' registrations on their body worn cameras and addressed any auto law violations.
The response on Canterbury Street resulted in motor vehicle citation enforcement for every vehicle that the Auto Theft Unit and responding officers recorded being on scene within the reveler group. After further investigation, a total of 78 motor vehicle citations were issued to the registered owners of every vehicle on scene for violation of "No Stopping/No Standing". The late night reveler investigation is ongoing, and enforcement will continue to prevent these incidents from occurring.
The facts and circumstances surrounding the prior incident are as follows: At about 11:20 PM, on Friday, November 8, 2024, officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan), and District E-13 (Jamaica Plain) responded to the area of 485 Canterbury Street for a report of an Officer in Trouble. Officers arrested Alan Ridenour, 19, of Marlboro, Mario Florian, 19, of Ashland, and Geraldo Colon, 21, of Framingham. Officers recovered two firearms, and two stolen motor vehicles related to this incident.
