Planned Road Work for Mid-Missouri

Nov. 4 - 10, 2024

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - The following is a list of general highway maintenance and construction work planned in the mid-Missouri area Nov. 4 - 10, 2024. Weather conditions may postpone scheduled work. Many projects will include lane closures which could cause delays.

All Counties

Moving operations such as pothole patching, mowing, brush cutting, and pavement repair continue in various locations. Motorists should travel with care and be alert for slow - moving equipment.

All work is weather permitting, and schedules are subject to change.

Boone County

Route C - Pothole patching planned Nov. 4 - 6 from U.S. Route 63 to the city of Harrisburg. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

Route F - Pavement repair planned Nov. 4 - 6 from Missouri Route 124 to Missouri Route 22. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

Route B - Pothole patching planned Nov. 4 - 7 from U.S. Route 63 to the city of Hallsville. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

Route A - Resurfacing continues from Route B (Randolph County) to Missouri Route 124. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in November 2024.

Interstate 70 westbound, Route O, and Route J - Bridge repair continues on westbound I-70 over Routes O and J. The project is scheduled for completion in November 2024. Traffic impacts include:

  • The right-hand (driving) lane of westbound I-70 is rerouted to the on- and off- ramps at Exit 117 for the duration of the repair project.
  • Routes O and J are CLOSED under the bridge.
    • Route O is detoured to Route BB (Exit 115).
    • Route J is detoured to U.S. Route 40 (Exit 121).
  • No access to/from westbound I-70 and Routes O and J.
  • No access to/from eastbound I-70 and Route J.
  • Eastbound I-70 to/from Route O remains opens.

I-70 - Bridge construction continues for the new Rocheport Bridge near mile marker 115. The new eastbound bridge is scheduled to open to traffic in December 2024.

Route TT - Upgrades to pedestrian facilities planned on Broadway between Route ZZ and Silvey Street. The work is being done by the city of Columbia. The project is scheduled for completion in December 2024.

U.S. Route 63 - Bridge construction continues on U.S. Route 63 between the Broadway overpass and Conley Road underpass in Columbia. U.S. Route 63 will remain open but in a head-to-head configuration with narrowed lanes and reduced speeds. This traffic pattern is expected to be in place through late 2025. I-70 - New pavement construction continues in Columbia from Route B (Paris Road) to east of the Connector (east of exit 128A) through January 2027 as part of the Improve I-70 program. Motorists can expect intermittent and long-term lane closures for the duration of the project. Learn more at modot.org/improvei70/columbiakingdomcity.

Callaway County

Route NN - Roadside work planned Nov. 4 - 7. at County Road 254. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

I-70 - New pavement construction continues from the Boone County line to Kingdom City (near mile marker 145) as part of the Improve I-70 Program. Motorists can expect intermittent and long-term lane closures for the duration of the project. Learn more at modot.org/improvei70/columbiakingdomcity

Camden County

Missouri Route 7 - Culvert replacement planned Nov. 5 at Knob Hollow Road. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

Route A - Pavement work planned Nov. 6 in several locations between U.S. Route 54 and Richland to prepare for upcoming culvert replacements. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

Cole County

Outer Road 50 (Country Club Drive) - Pavement repair planned Nov. 4 - 7 at Hunters Run Road. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

U.S. Route 54 - Bridge rehabilitation continues over U.S. Route 50 and McCarty Street in Jefferson City. U.S. Route 54 will remain open but is narrowed to one lane in each direction between south of the Missouri River and Business Route 50 (Missouri Boulevard). Width restrictions are in place. The project is scheduled for completion the week of Nov. 4.

Missouri Boulevard - Ramp CLOSED from Missouri Boulevard to eastbound U.S. Route 54 through Nov. 8. Motorist must use an alternate route.

West Main Street - Ramp CLOSED from westbound U.S. Route 54 to West Main Street through Nov. 8. Motorist must use an alternate route.

U.S. Route 50 - Ramp CLOSED from eastbound U.S. Route 54 to U.S. Route 50 (east and westbound) through Nov. 8. Motorist must use an alternate route.

Route B - Bridge rehabilitation continues over the Moreau River near Wardsville. One lane will remain open and temporary traffic signals are in place to guide motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in November 2024.

Route D - Bridge deck replacement continues over North Moreau Creek Bridge. The road is CLOSED between Hunters Haven Drive and Knoll Road, and a signed detour is in place. The project is scheduled for completion in December 2024.

Cooper County

Missouri Route 87 - Culvert replacement planned Nov. 4 from Route D to Route U (Moniteau County). One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

Missouri Route 179 - Roadside work planned Nov. 4 - 7. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

Route T - Culvert replacement planned Nov. 5. The road will be CLOSED from Route J to Round Hill Road, 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Motorists must use an alternate route.

I-70 - Bridge construction continues for the new Rocheport Bridge near mile marker 115. The new eastbound bridge is scheduled to open to traffic in December 2024.

Crawford County

Route PP - Roadside work planned Nov. 4 - 7 from Rutz Subdivision Road to Lick Creek Road. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

Route Y - Culvert replacement planned Nov. 4 - 8 from Missouri Route 49 in Viburnum (Iron County) to Route V. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

Missouri Routes 8and 19 - Upgrades to pedestrian facilities in the city of Steelville. One lane will remain open in each direction, and crews will flag traffic through the work zones. The project is scheduled for completion in November.

Howard County

Route J - Culvert replacement planned Nov. 4 - 5 from Missouri Route 87 to County Road 323. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

Route 240 - Culvert replacement planned Nov. 6 - 7 from County Road 436 to U.S. Route 40. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

Missouri Route 3 - Culvert replacement planned Nov. 6 - 7 from County Road 238 to County Road 244. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

Routes A, E and AA - Resurfacing continues. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in November 2024.

Laclede County

Route VV - Culvert replacement planned Nov. 4. The road will be CLOSED from Lonesome Road to Missouri Route 5, 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Motorists must use an alternate route.

Route E - Culvert replacement planned Nov. 5 - 9. The road will be CLOSED from Bluff Trail Road to Route NN, 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. daily. Motorists must use an alternate route.

Route O - Bridge maintenance planned Nov. 4 - 7 at the Gasconade River Bridge. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

Missouri Route 64 - Bridge replacement continues at the Goodwin Hollow Creek Bridge. The road is CLOSED to all traffic with a signed detour in place. The project is scheduled for completion in November 2024.

Route B - Bridge deck replacement continues at the Osage Fork Bridge. The road is CLOSED to all traffic with a signed detour in place. The project is scheduled for completion in November 2024.

Maries County

Missouri Route 42 - Roadside work planned Nov. 4 - 8 from the city of Vienna to the city of Belle. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

Route C - Roadside work planned Nov. 4 - 8 from Missouri Route 28 to Route H. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

Miller County

Route P - Culvert replacement planned Nov. 4 - 7. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

Moniteau County

Missouri Route 87 - Culvert replacement planned Nov. 4 from Route D (Cooper County) to Route U. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

Morgan County

Missouri Route 52 - Culvert replacement planned Nov. 4 at Route N. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

Osage County

U.S. Route 63 - Roadside work planned Nov. 4 - 8 in the city limits of Freeburg. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

Phelps County

I-44 - Bridge maintenance planned Nov. 4 - 11, westbound only, at the Bourbeuse River Bridge (mile marker 191.8). The left-hand (passing) lane will be closed beginning at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 4, and will remain closed around-the-clock through Nov. 11. A 12-foot width restriction is in place. The right-hand (driving) lane will remain open.

Missouri Route 68 - Culvert replacement planned Nov. 4 - 7 at County Road 3520. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

Route B - Culvert replacement planned Nov. 4 - 7 from Missouri Route 68 to Route EE. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

I-44 - Road resurfacing and reconstruction continues from Exit 186 in Rolla to Exit 195 in St. James. Expect around-the-clock lane closures from U.S. Route 63 to Missouri Route 68. An 11-foot width restriction is in place. The end date for the project is yet to be determined based on concrete quality issues that will need to be corrected. Pulaski County

Missouri Route 17 - Roadside work planned Nov. 4 - 8. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

Route D - Roadside work planned Nov. 4 - 8. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

Route Z - Shoulder work planned Nov. 4 - 8. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

I-44 - Bridge maintenance continues at mile marker 160. Nightly lane closures are expected from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. The project is scheduled for completion in December 2024.

Business Loop 44 - Bridge rehabilitation continues over I-44 in St. Robert. Business Loop 44 is open but narrowed to one lane in each direction in a head-to-head configuration. An 11-foot width restriction is in place. The project is scheduled for completion in December 2024.

Washington County

Route 47 - Bridge rehabilitation continues over Mineral Fork Creek. Traffic is narrowed to one lane with temporary signals in place. The project is scheduled for completion in November 2024.
