Aquarium of the Pacific Announces First Wednesdays Series Lineup Through December 2024

December 10, 2024

WHAT: You can discover the ways water is used and reused across agricultural, industrial, community and personal use during the upcoming First Wednesdays event at the Aquarium of the Pacific. This panel discussion taking place on November 6 will examine the benefits and disadvantages of this process and go through examples of where it is being used in Southern California. At the December First Wednesdays, you can learn about polar bears, and how these marine mammals are being affected in their changing environment.

During the November and December 2024 First Wednesdays, guests can also visit FROGS: Our Neighbors, which is part of the Aquarium's new FROGS: Facing a Changing World exhibit. Here you can see mountain yellow-legged frogs, an endangered local species that the Aquarium is helping. It also includes an exhibit with rescued axolotls, the interactive Paint a FROG exhibit, and more.

First Wednesdays brings scientists, authors, and other experts into the Aquarium's Honda Pacific Visions Theater for an illustrated talk paired with book signings or meet and greets and cocktail/social hours with music and crafts at 7:00 p.m., usually on the first Wednesday of each month. The programs are best suited for high school and college students, young professionals, and adults of all ages. Lectures are also live streamed.
