ERIE, Pa., Feb. 12, 2024 - Erie Insurance (ERIE) today announced the promotion of Leah Micholas to vice president and regional officer for the Northeast region, overseeing field operations in Pennsylvania and New York. Micholas joined ERIE in 2011 and had served as vice president and branch manager of the Pittsburgh Branch office.
Micholas succeeds Tony DaBreo, who will now lead ERIE's West region comprised of Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee and Wisconsin. DaBreo's move follows the retirement of West region vice president and regional officer Rick Gordon.
"Leah has proven time and again that she can execute and move important metrics to support our agents and our business," said Mike Fletcher, senior vice president of Sales & Marketing. "Her unique skillset compliments our team-we're thrilled to welcome her!"
Prior to joining ERIE, Micholas spent 14 years at The Hartford in progressive sales roles, and notably as regional sales manager with oversight of Pennsylvania and Delaware. Prior to that, she worked at Zurich Insurance in underwriting, training, customer service management and sales. She began her insurance career as an underwriter at Aetna Life & Casualty.
Micholas holds a bachelor's degree in finance from Clarion University of Pennsylvania and is a graduate of Yale University's Executive Leadership program. She is also a Pennsylvania Property & Casualty, Life & Health Licensed Agent and a Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC).
