Ben Franklin Bridge Milling & Paving Work Scheduled for October Weekends
[Link]The Delaware River Port Authority (DRPA) will conduct milling and paving work on the Ben Franklin Bridge over the weekends from October 11 to October 27. To minimize traffic disruptions, the work is scheduled to take place from 8 p.m. on Fridays through 7 p.m. on Sundays, weather permitting. This project will repair deteriorated pavement areas, ensuring a smoother driving experience for motorists.
What to expect:
-
Scheduled Work, weather permitting:
-
October 11-13: Westbound work will occur with two lanes open, while the two right lanes will be closed. Three eastbound lanes will remain open.
-
October 18-20: Eastbound work with two lanes open and two right lanes closed. Three westbound lanes will remain open.
-
October 25-27: Eastbound work scheduled to take place with 1 eastbound lane open from 10PM-6AM and 3 left lanes closed. Three westbound lanes will remain open.
-
Bridge Motorists: Construction work zones with lane closures and reduced speed limits. A minimum of two lanes are expected to be open in each direction. Motorists are advised to allow additional travel time and consider an alternate route, such as the Walt Whitman or Betsy Ross Bridge.
-
Bridge Neighbors: Due to the nature of milling and paving construction work, neighbors will experience construction equipment noise and bright work lights. Efforts will be made to minimize these construction impacts.
