PITTSBURGH, 4 November, 2024 - As the energy industry experiences a global transformation highlighted by climate action, innovative solutions are needed to help keep workers safe on the job and to protect facility infrastructures. This week, MSA Safety, Inc. (NYSE: MSA), will be showcasing its leadership in fixed and portable detection solutions for the energy industry during ADIPEC 2024 in Abu Dhabi from 4 to 7 November.
Hosted by the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), ADIPEC is the world's most influential meeting place for energy industry professionals. Attendees are able to discuss and identify opportunities to unlock value and explore strategies and solutions to address the challenges created by complex global energy market dynamics.
This year, MSA Safety will be showcasing its newest detection solution, the MSA General Monitors® FL5000 Multi-Spectrum Flame Detector. As the industry's first optical flame detector with Bluetooth connectivity, the FL5000 Flame Detector enables wireless access to configure the device and perform diagnostic tests, allowing for fast setup, easy detector status checks, and quick access to event logs. The FL5000 Flame Detector also features artificial neural networks (ANNs), which can discern subtle differences between actual flames and potential sources of interference, helping to reduce false alarms. Plus, the FL5000 Flame Detector features communications capabilities for automatic integration with plant processes and safety systems, making it easy to further enhance the overall facility safety operations.
"For MSA Safety, we're focused on creating an impact by helping to protect people, places and the planet," said Dave Howells, President of MSA International. "We're committed to helping reduce environmental impacts, while helping to keep people safe at work. For customers, that means providing gas and flame detection expertise and supporting them in their sustainability goals. We're committed to designing and manufacturing solutions that help protect workers while empowering safety awareness and compliance."
From fixed detection to portable devices and solutions, MSA Safety will also be featuring its Connected Work Platform, powered by the ALTAIR io™ 4 Gas Detection Wearable. With its direct-to-cloud design, the ALTAIR io 4 detector seamlessly connects with MSA Grid cloud-based software and the ALTAIR io™ Dock to deliver real-time visibility to help enhance worker safety. Attendees will be able to learn about newly launched MSA Grid Shared Alerts that allow instant notification to the ALTAIR io 4 detector and MSA Grid, indicating when a team member or someone working nearby has triggered an alarm, helping to enable a swift response to emergency situations.
In addition, ADIPEC attendees can experience MSA Safety's broad range of fixed gas, fall protection and head protection solutions. Featured head protection includes the V-Gard C1® Hard Hat, with its ReflectIR® Thermal Barrier technology, which helps to alleviate heat stress for workers in industries where heat stress from sun exposure is a concern.
These products and more will be on display at MSA's location in Hall 8 Stand #8176. To learn more about MSA Safety's featured solutions at ADIPEC, click here.
