DLA Distribution employees recognized for exceptionalism
NEW CUMBERLAND, Pa. -
Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Yokosuka, Japan, employees were recognized with commander's coins for their exceptional work on June 14 in a brief presentation at one of the warehouse facilities on Navy Base Yokosuka. Coins were presented by Navy Capt. Patrick Blake, commander, DLA Indo-Pacific Command.
"No one understands the necessity of our mission more than our employees, and no one is better skilled at accomplishing the mission than them," said Bernard Domingo, deputy commander, DLA Distribution Yokosuka, Japan.

Phairot Mimunthom, packer, was given a coin for his outstanding effort and support through the implementation of DLA's Warehouse Management System. Mimunthom would keep leadership updated constantly on the status of the workload while simultaneously taking on additional responsibilities to ensure mission completion. His exceptional accomplishments were key to the success of DLA Distribution Yokosuka, Japan, transitioning to WMS.
Josh Paraggua Ramones, materials handler supervisor, was recognized for his critical and quick-thinking skills in finding solutions to streamline workflow processes under WMS. He continues to provide training to multiple divisions throughout DLA Distribution Yokosuka, Japan. A key to the ongoing efficiency improvements at the distribution center, Ramones embodies the spirit of continual improvement of operations.
Carina Francisco, general supply specialist, leads her team ensuring uptime of material handling equipment by completing preventative maintenance inspections with reduced delays and more completed tasks per mechanic than in previous years. Under her leadership, her team has achieved 937 accident-free days as of June 7, 2024.
DLA Distribution Yokosuka, Japan is composed of 20 facilities which contain 3.2 million cubic feet of covered storage and 61,000 square feet of open storage. Their diverse workforce of U.S. civilians, military and Japanese nationals exemplifies the strength of our allied nations ensuring peace and security throughout the region.
