PRIVATE AIRCRAFT CRASH

Lafayette, LA - Lafayette Fire Department is investigating an aircraft crash which occurred at approximately 11:37am near Oakbourne Country Club and the 3700 Block of E Simcoe Street. The preliminary investigation is on a small, private aircraft which crashed upon takeoff. One confirmed occupant inside the aircraft was pronounced deceased onsite.

Investigators with the Lafayette Fire Department are on scene, and the investigation is ongoing. Updates will be provided when more information becomes available.
