July 1 - August 30, 2024: Clay artist Christy Stephens

MEET THE ARTIST! Monday, August 19, from 5:30 - 7:30pm Lakeway City Hall (1102 Lohmans Crossing)

"Art has always been a passion of mine, since as far back as I can remember. After graduating high school, I jumped right into college to apply my love of art into learning graphic design. Many of you may know me from @c_streetstudio with my design and illustrations. I think as an artist I've always enjoyed the process of applying my art to a variety of mediums. It keeps my art fresh and I enjoy challenging myself to new levels. I must say that in my art journey, God has taught me new things about myself, life and Him. With design and illustration, I was the pencil in His hand. As I entered into pottery in 2019, I quickly learned that He is the ultimate potter, and I must be the clay. Pliable and willing to be molded in His hands…to be changed into the person He wants me to be. I know I have a lot to learn but most importantly for now.... I am loving the process! I am inspired by nature and like to use pattern, dimension, color and texture in my work. It is my prayer that each piece of pottery I create brings joy to those who receive it."

About the Exhibit: "I like to evoke a sense of wonder and appreciation for the intricate yet extraordinary moments that occur in nature. The interplay of color and texture inspires the magical process of transforming raw clay from nature into functional works of art. I love the contrast between something new and fresh next to something weathered and worn. I invite you to explore my creations, discover the stories behind each piece, and find something that speaks to your heart to treasure for your home."
