Cannes Lions 2024 has wrapped, leaving us at Samba TV energized by a week of enlightening discussions, meetings, and panels. At this year's event we introduced Samba AI, our suite of generative AI technologies that promise to reshape our industry and elevate contextual advertising and media measurement to new heights. Nestled in a picturesque suite overlooking the bustling Palais, Samba TV participated in a dynamic schedule of thought-provoking events. Read on for some highlights.

Diversity in Our Industry

Diversity and inclusion took center stage at Cannes Lions 2024. In collaboration with The Female Quotient, Samba TV brought together leading marketers from Fox Entertainment, Publicis Imagine, and TikTok to discuss the power of diverse storytelling by exploring its impact on audience engagement, brand building, and ultimately, the bottom line. Discussions highlighted the transformative impact of inclusive content strategies in media and sports. Christina Park, Head of Industry at Samba TV, highlighted findings from the recent State of Diversity on TV Report, revealing compelling insights into viewer engagement trends.

"The data continues to show that diverse casting not only enriches storytelling but also drives viewership. In the top 50 TV shows released this year, 39% of top-billed actors were from Hispanic, Black, Asian, or other non-white ethnicities. This representation not only resonates with diverse audiences but also amplifies engagement, with viewers 39% more likely to connect with content that reflects their identities," Christina Park shared during the panel.

The discussion emphasized the imperative for industry stakeholders to leverage ethnic representation and gender equality in media narratives. Samba TV reaffirmed its commitment to using AI-driven insights to advocate for diverse storytelling that fosters inclusive cultural narratives and resonates authentically with global audiences.

The Future of Samba AI

At the CIMM Summit in the OpenAp villa, Samba TV participated in a forward-looking panel that explored how AI is already impacting measurement and the potential for future campaign optimization. Key discussions centered around the transformative potential of AI in optimizing campaign effectiveness and driving actionable business outcomes. Panelists highlighted how AI technologies are revolutionizing audience engagement strategies, enabling brands to deliver personalized experiences across digital platforms seamlessly.

Mike Bregman from Havas took the stage with Ashwin Navin at the CIMM Summit to discuss how Havas is using the industry's best video datasets, including Samba TV, to power their Meaningful Rating Point (MRP) product for cross-platform planning and measurement. It was also exciting to hear Havas Media announce the launch of their new group-wide operating system for the Converged platform, a tool that integrates Samba TV data.

What's a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
