REP LIEU STATEMENT ON CALIFORNIA STATE OF EMERGENCY ON LAND MOVEMENT IN CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES

LOS ANGELES - Congressman Ted Lieu (D-Los Angeles County) issued the below statement following California Governor Gavin Newsom's declaration of a State of Emergency in the City of Rancho Palos Verdes amid ongoing land movement.

"I am pleased that Governor Newsom has declared a State of Emergency for the City of Rancho Palos Verdes following land movement activity throughout the area. This unprecedented land movement has disrupted utility service and endangered residents. The order from Governor Newsom will help the City to respond to the devastating impacts of land movement.

"I remain committed to continuing my work with state, county and local partners to ensure resident safety across the impacted area and stand ready to assist with any federal aid that may be requested."
