ESU Looks to Grow Aspiring Educators Program with Summer Summit

As East Stroudsburg University's Aspiring Educator Pathway Program (AEPP) begins its second year, the College of Education will host a Summer Summit. The Summit will take place Wednesday, July 17 and Thursday, July 18 on the university's campus.

The vision of ESU's AEPP is to proactively combat the education workforce shortage, by working collaboratively with local school entities and community partners in the development of future teacher clubs and developing cohorts of students to learn more about the profession of education. During the program's first year, a consortium of 17 local K-16 school-partners worked to build a pathway for high school students to learn more about professions in education and developed a framework for implementation. The AEEP program was the recipient of the 2024 CIU20 Excellence in Education Award.

The Summer Summit will review AEPP's accomplishments from the first year and welcome new partners to the program. Over 75 participants from regional school districts are expected to attend the summit.
