The City of North Port celebrated the successful completion and ribbon-cutting ceremony for Water Control Structure (WCS) #113 on Thursday. This marks the 13th structure replaced in an ongoing infrastructure improvement program. There are 64 WCS in total.

Located on the Snover Waterway, WCS #113 plays a critical role in managing water flow into the Myakkahatchee Creek, vital for both storm response and daily water management.

City officials and Department of Public Works staff gathered at the structure to celebrate the completion.

"This brand new structure enhances the City's stormwater management, which in turn helps with disaster response," Stormwater Manager Elizabeth Wong said. "This is just another step in the City's ongoing effort to strengthen infrastructure and protect our residents."
