Statement Regarding Use of Silver Diamine Fluoride by Dental Hygienists Acting Under General Supervision

The Georgia Board of Dentistry has voted to issue a statement clarifying the use of "fluoride treatment" by dental hygienists acting under general supervision pursuant to Rule 150-5-.03. The act of providing "fluoride treatment" authorized by this Rule includes the use of Silver Diamine Fluoride by dental hygienists acting under general supervision.

This statement is intended neither to limit nor to authorize hereby, or to in any other way affect the authority of such dental hygienists to use any other treatment than that named herein.
