Fun for a cause: How UTSA’s Roadrunner Days is building a connected community

Late Night at the Rec will take place from 9 p.m. on Saturday, August 24, to midnight on Sunday, August 25. Students will enjoy an evening filled with fun, games, giveaways, and an introduction to UTSA's recreation programs, wellness facilities, and club sports organizations. This event is a perfect opportunity for students to mingle, dance, compete, and build new friendships in a lively setting.

From Sunday, August 25, through Saturday, August 31, Roadrunner Days will focus on the student-to-student connections that lay the foundation for a supportive network that enhances the university experience. The festivities begin with the traditional late-night dance party, Midnight Light, from 8:45 p.m. on Sunday, August 25, to midnight on Monday, August 26, at the Monuments on the UTSA Main Campus. Students will enjoy snow cones and a stage program, including a drone show that will add a spectacular visual element to the celebration.

Another highlight of the week is the Howdy Rowdy Bash. From 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday, August 30, students will gather at Six Flags Fiesta Texas to enjoy rides, games and a DJ/Foam party. The event offers a thrilling off-campus experience, fostering camaraderie and creating unforgettable memories for all attendees.

The final week, which begins Sunday, September 1, and concludes on Saturday, September 7, will focus on connecting students to the university services and resources that will help students succeed academically and personally. Among the events of the week is Kickback at the Union, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, September 3 at the Student Union Paseo and first floor. Students will learn about the services available at the Student Union. They will also can also visit with staff from the all the offices, enjoy some food and live music and relax.
