Governor DeWine, Lt. Governor Husted Announces Approval of New Projects Expected to Create 1,600 Jobs, More Than $185 Million in Investments

(COLUMBUS, Ohio)- Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and Lt. Governor Jon Husted today announced the approval of eight projects that will create 1,664 new jobs and retain 2,201 jobs statewide.  

During its monthly meeting, the Ohio Tax Credit Authority (TCA) reviewed economic development proposals brought to the board by JobsOhio and its regional partners. Collectively, the projects are expected to result in more than $138 million in new payroll and spur more than $185 million in investments across Ohio.

CENTRAL

Gifthealth, Inc., city of Columbus (Franklin County) expects to create 751 full-time-equivalent positions, generating more than $56.4 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company's expansion project in Columbus. Gifthealth is a health information technology company focusing on products and services in the pharmacy and prescription delivery space. The proposed project includes acquiring a facility as a result of newly obtained contracts. TCA approved a 1.977%, 10-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

Welspun USA, Inc., city of Grove City, and city of Columbus (Franklin County) expects to create 70 full-time-equivalent positions, generating $5.12 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company's expansion project in Grove City and Columbus. Welspun USA is a manufacturer and distributor of home textiles to major retailers that has been in business for 35 years. The proposed project includes retrofitting their existing space in Grove City from distribution to manufacturing operations. TCA approved a 1.434%, eight-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

NORTHEAST

Camaco, LLC. A Delaware Limited Liability Company, city of Lorain (Lorain County) expects to create 104 full-time-equivalent positions, generating more than $5.2 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company's expansion project in Lorain. Camaco is an independent supplier of seat frame structures to the North American automotive market. The proposed project includes the acquisition of a new facility that will house increased production capacity of a result of new contracts obtained by the company. TCA approved a 1.325%, eight-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

LSC Communications Book LLC and LSC Communications LLC (Lakeside Book), city of Willard (Huron County) expects to create 100 full-time-equivalent positions, generating $4.4 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company's expansion project in Willard. Lakeside Book provides publishers with comprehensive book printing, binding, and distribution solutions, servicing trade, government, healthcare, industrial catalogs, and education markets. The proposed project includes expanding the company's existing space to accommodate employees relocating from an out-of-state plant. TCA approved a 1.25%, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

Seaman Corporation, city of Wooster (Wayne County) expects to create 53 full-time-equivalent positions, generating more than $2.9 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company's expansion project in Wooster. Seaman Corp develops and manufactures innovative, high-performance fabrics used in roofing systems, geomembrane liners, truck tarps, architectural structures, recreational products, and more. The proposed project includes expanding the company's existing headquarters in Ohio in response to increased demand for the company's industry-leading fabric and membrane products. TCA approved a 1.188%, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

SOUTHWEST

AtriCure, Inc., city of Mason (Warren County) expects to create 400 full-time-equivalent positions, generating more than $54.9 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company's expansion project in Mason. AtriCure is a leading innovator in surgical treatments and therapies for atrial fibrillation (Afib), left atrial appendage (LAA) management, and post-operative pain management. The proposed project includes expanding their existing space in Southwest Ohio for additional engineering, manufacturing, and warehousing capabilities due to increased demand for their expanded product offerings. TCA approved a 2.181%, 12-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

Mira Precision Health, Inc. (Mobility Health), city of Mason (Warren County) expects to create 29 full-time- equivalent positions, generating $2.79 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company's expansion project in Mason. Mobility Health is a biohealth diagnostic company focused on ensuring population health with precise, rapid infectious disease testing. The proposed project includes renovating an existing office floor into lab and molecular testing space. The renovation supports new partner contracts with pharmacy networks and state departments of health, necessitating expansion of more lab space for added capacity. TCA approved a 1.359%, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

WEST

Topre America Corporation, city of Springfield (Clark County) expects to create 157 full-time-equivalent positions, generating more than $6.9 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company's expansion project in Springfield. Topre uses metal press forming technology to supply a variety of high-performance components and products to many industries, including automobiles, temperature-controlled logistics, air conditioning systems, and electronic equipment. The proposed project includes expanding an existing Springfield facility by adding hot and cold stamping machines and more presses to support a new contract within the EV industry. TCA approved a 1.274%, eight-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.
