Prime Minister Spajić congratulates on Statehood Day

Prime Minister Milojko Spajić extended his congratulations to all citizens of Montenegro on the occasion of Statehood Day, 13 July, reminding that this year marks 146 years since Montenegro's independence was recognised at the Berlin Congress and 83 years since the national Uprising in World War II.

There can hardly be more significant events for a country, Spajić noted.

He emphasised that a society carrying such undeniable historical facts in its collective memory can have no better guide for the future and new circumstances.

These two permanently significant dates naturally direct us towards belonging to a community founded on the values of freedom, anti-fascism, cosmopolitanism, and economic progress, he stated.

As highlighted in the Prime Minister's congratulatory message, the latest positive report we received at the Intergovernmental Conference in Brussels confirms that we are firmly on the path of our historical and strategic orientation towards Europe as a Union of universal values, highest principles, and most demanding standards.

With a shared vision of a European future and full respect for our ancestors, whose noble path is challenging yet a source of pride for us to follow, we once again wish a happy Statehood Day. May Montenegro be eternal, concludes Prime Minister Milojko Spajić in his congratulatory message.
