Senator Cramer Welcomes New Soybean Processing Facility to Casselton

CASSELTON - The North Dakota Soybean Processors (NDSP) held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday to celebrate the grand opening of its new facility in Casselton. NDSP, a joint venture between Japanese owned CGB Enterprises Inc. and Minnesota Soybean Processors, said the new facility is expected to crush 42.5 million bushels of soybeans in the first year and create 50 to 60 new jobs once fully operational.

U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND) attended the ribbon-cutting and delivered remarks on the importance of this facility to North Dakota communities.

"It really takes all people pulling the same direction, having the same goals and principles, and then working out the differences and finding common ground," said Cramer. "That is how we create growth, that is what we have done here in North Dakota. Building new domestic markets for our commodities rather than agricultural dependence on foreign adversaries."

Soybeans are the top agricultural commodity for North Dakota, based on cash receipts, and is a top 10 exporter nationally. North Dakota also ranks fourth nationally for acres planted of soybeans. Cass County is the top soybean producing county and ranks sixth nationally by bushel.
