South Park Commons Background Information

Financing for the new affordable housing project included the investment of a City-owned parcel at Bennett Valley Road and Rutledge Avenue, which the City sold to the developer for $1. The Santa Rosa Housing Authority also invested $5.5 million and 30 project-based Housing Vouchers in the project. State funding, loans from the Housing Authority and the Renewal Enterprise District, and low-income housing tax credits all came together to make the project possible. The affordable housing development will feature 62 apartments, ranging from studios to three bedrooms, for low-income renters and half of the units targeted to formerly homeless households. Services will be available on-site for all residents, with additional housing stabilization services for residents who were formerly homeless. The project is anticipated to be completed by December 31, 2024.
