Join PAs on the Plaza on October 11!
PAs on the Plaza has become a staple during PA Week. This year, hundreds of PAs and PA students from across the country will gather in New York City to show their PA spirit and raise awareness of the profession on ABC's Good Morning America and NBC's TODAY Show Plazas.

AAPA will provide a few signs for participants to use but encourages groups to let their creativity shine through and create their own. This is a great way to showcase your school spirit and spread the message that PAs Go Beyond!

If you or your group is interested in attending, please fill out the following form so an AAPA staff member can assign you to one of the two morning show plazas. Only one form per group is needed.

Host a Project Access event
Project Access events take place at middle and high schools across the country. Any PA with a passion for inspiring the next generation of PAs can set up a visit with a local school or community organization.

Volunteers typically explain to students the differences between PAs and other healthcare professionals, the educational requirements and cost of a PA education, and the kinds of coursework and jobs that can benefit a PA school application, as well as their personal experiences.

For PAs interested in hosting an event, a toolkit and presenter resources are available in AAPA's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Resource Center

Make a difference through giving
Help empower your fellow PAs and PA students to improve health in their communities by donating to the PA Foundation's IMPACT GrantProgram. Through this program, the PA Foundation seeks to support patient-centered, community-based health projects within the United States and its territories that demonstrate an impact on patient health outcomes.

Request a proclamation
PA Week is the perfect opportunity to ask employers, city councils, state representatives, and even members of Congress to issue a proclamation to honor and recognize the contributions of the PA workforce in your practice, facility, state, or community.

AAPA has created a guide with a sample proclamation, template press release, and additional tips to help your organization secure a proclamation and maximize its impact. View it and additional resources at PAweek.com.

Reach out to your local media
During PA Week 2023, audiences across the country were reached more than 75 million times through earned media. While AAPA staff members work year-round to increase the presence of PAs in the news, PA Week is a particularly opportune time to raise awareness of the profession and educate the public.

On the PA Week Resources page, PAs can find a drafted op-ed that can be customized and sent to a local newspaper or online publication to help spread the word about PA Week. AAPA has also included some helpful tips on how to get it published.
