College Parkway Shooting Suspect Identified

On August 2, 2024, shortly before 4:30 p.m., the Rockville City Police Department and Montgomery County Fire Rescue Services responded to the 400 block of College Parkway for a shooting. The first arriving units found an adult male, outside of a residence, suffering from a single gunshot wound to the abdomen. The victim was transported to an area hospital, where he was originally listed in critical condition. The victim has since been downgraded to stable condition but remains hospitalized.

Since the shooting, RCPD detectives have worked around the clock to identify the suspect. The suspect has been identified as Isaiah Warren Simpson, 33, of Washington D.C. Detectives learned that Simpson is prohibited from possessing firearms. Detectives have obtained an arrest warrant for Simpson for Attempted Second Degree Murder, First Degree Assault, Second Degree Assault, Reckless Endangerment, Use of a Firearm in a Crime of Violence, Illegal Possession of a Regulated Firearm, and Loaded Handgun on Person.
