Ogden Canyon Road Construction Updates 7/3/24

Road Construction Notice:

The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) will implement safety enhancements in Ogden Canyon during Summer 2024, including centerline sinusoidal rumble strips and upgraded barriers. The strips are designed to alert distracted drivers by generating vibration and low-noise levels, particularly at curved regions of roadway. The pre-cast barriers are specifically designed to firmly protect vehicles that wander outside westbound travel lanes near the mouth of the canyon. Traffic Impacts

Please slow down when approaching flagging and pilot-car operations. Daytime lane closures will be expected for both projects, and some of the work many happen simultaneously. Construction zones will be short distance and traffic impacts will remain under 5-15 minutes. Due to the nature of the barrier installation, there will be up to 8 nighttime canyon closures over the 45-day work duration. Check out our website for updates!
