Parking Available During Parking Lot 3 Reconstruction

Improvements are underway for Parking Lot 3, located at the intersection of Harris and Madison Avenues. The construction project is expected to be completed by mid-August, weather permitting. This project consists of replacing the parking lot surface with permeable pavers, allowing for the capturing of 37,800 gallons of stormwater during a rain event and reducing the storm water entering the sewer system.

While Parking Lot 3 is currently unavailable for use, additional parking is available in the area. Arrangements have been made for parking across the street (south) on the Cossitt Avenue School asphalt lot which can be accessed via the Ashland Avenue entrance. Signage will remain posted throughout the duration of the project, letting motorists know of the additional parking.

Lot 3 consists of 38 parking spaces and is used for short term parking for visitors to downtown La Grange. Under the terms of an Intergovernmental Agreement with the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District (MWRD), the MWRD has committed to reimbursing the Village for 44.2% of the total construction cost, up to $197,000.
