Long Beach, CA - At the 27th Annual SCAN BROADBAND Star Awards held on Sept. 26, 2024, Long Beach Television (LBTV), part of the City of Long Beach Technology and Innovation Department, won three first place and three second place Star Awards for best government programing from the States of California and Nevada (SCAN) Broadband Association, a sector of the California Association of Public Information Officials (CAPIO).

"This recognition is a testament to the talent and dedication of our LBTV team, who are committed to bringing engaging and informative content to our community," said Mayor Rex Richardson. "We are proud to serve our community and will continue to strive for excellence in our video programming."

Spanning 46 categories, the STAR Awards recognize excellence in government video programming from cities and counties of all sizes throughout California. This is the first year that CAPIO and SCAN have partnered on the awards program.

LBTV's success at this year's awards is reflective of their commitment to excellence and innovation in providing informative and engaging content to the community. LBTV won first place in three categories for the following video productions:

The City also received three second place recognitions in the Economic Development, Magazine Format, and Overall Excellence in Government Programming categories for videos featuring the RMS Queen Mary, Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach and LBTV Public, Education and Government Television Station.
