DART to increase service for fans attending Texas State Fair and the Allstate Red River Rivalry

Tens of thousands of people are expected to travel to the State Fair of Texas for the 2024 Allstate Red River Rivalry between the Texas Longhorns and the Oklahoma Sooners, on October 12. To meet the need, the DART team is adjusting service and increasing staff presence across the system to help ensure our passengers reach their destinations.

Passengers should note that trains begin filling up more than three hours before kickoff, so DART riders are encouraged to arrive early for the game. To help accommodate the large crowds, DART is adding additional light rail service, special bus shuttles as well as Trinity Railway Express (TRE) trains with special connections. Please visit DART.org/RedRiverRivalry for more information and for full details.

The DART Green Line is your connection to the game

To get to the game, ride DART's Green Line to Fair Park Station, located on Parry Avenue at the entrance to the fairgrounds, or MLK, Jr. Station, located south of R.B. Cullum Boulevard and convenient to the Gate 6 entrance and the Cotton Bowl Stadium.

Get to know the connections

Fair days are always busy days on DART rail and buses, especially for the big game. DART Light Rail and Trinity Railway Express (TRE) riders can easily connect to the Green Line. Look for trains marked "Fair Park," "Buckner," or "Lawnview" for Green Line service. DART will be increasing the frequency of Green Line trains as well as the number of cars per train to accommodate these large crowds.

Southbound Red, Blue, and Orange Line riders: Transfer at Pearl/Arts District Station.

Northbound Red and Blue Line riders: Transfer at Akard Station.

Eastbound Orange Line riders: Transfer at Bachman Station.

Plus, weekend riders on all DART's rail lines including the Red and Blue will experience increased service frequency, with trains running every 20 minutes on Saturdays and Sundays between 6 AM and 10 PM to help connect our passengers to the State Fair.

Orange Line trains will extend service to Parker Road Station throughout the Fair, also with an increased 20-minute frequency, until 10 P.M. daily.

Denton County Transportation Authority (DCTA) users should visit DCTA.net for connection times at Trinity Mills Station to transfer to DART's Green Line.

TRE service will be available to get riders to the game, with transfers to the Green Line available at Victory Station. For more details, visit TrinityRailwayExpress.org/StateFair. The TRE will also run a Saturday schedule on Sundays during the State Fair season.

Special Bus Shuttles Available

Bus routes 23 and 214 serve Fair Park Station. Bus routes 13, 23, 104, and 216 serve MLK, Jr. Station.

On Saturday, Oct. 12, at 9:30 AM DART will also offer special shuttle buses to the Fair Park area from the following stations:

After the game, return buses will be lined up along Parry Avenue in front of Fair Park Station. Please note: Returning buses will only stop at Pearl/Arts District Station and Victory Station; passengers can ride DART rail to their final destinations.

Stay on the move with contactless payments

DART provides four contactless options for purchasing your pass:

· GoPass® app: Download it for free from the Apple App Store or Google Play and activate your pass before boarding.

· GoPass® Tap card: Purchase and reload your card at participating retailers. This reloadable option provides you with the best fare and can be tapped on a reader at DART stations or buses. (Note: It's only valid for local fares and not for TEXRail, DCTA, or Trinity Metro, each rider should have their own tap card)

· Credit or debit card: Use any contactless credit or debit card by tapping it on a reader at a DART station or bus, each. Each rider must use a unique form of contactless payment.

· Mobile device: Pay with apps like Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Samsung Pay by tapping your device on a reader at DART stations or buses.

Purchase a Local Day Pass for $6, good for DART Rail, local buses, and riding the TRE between DFW Airport/CentrePort Station and EBJ/Union Station. Tarrant and Denton County customers need a Regional Day Pass for $12. Details are available at www.DART.org/StateFair or by calling DART Customer Service at 214-979-1111.
