OROVILLE POLICE INVESTIGATION UNDERWAY FOLLOWING DISCOVERY OF DECEASED INDIVIDUAL

Oroville, CA- On Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at approximately 10:47 a.m., the Oroville Police Dispatch Center received a 911 call reporting a potential deceased individual near an access road close to the 2300 block of 5th Avenue. Oroville Police Officers promptly responded to the scene and confirmed the individual was deceased.

As part of standard protocol, the Oroville Police Department Investigations Unit and the Crime Scene Investigation Unit were called to the location to conduct a thorough investigation. Initial findings allowed officers and detectives to identify the deceased individual, However, the identity of the individual is being withheld until the notification of next of kin. The male is described as a white male adult from Oroville, approximately 23 years of age.

Following a detailed review of the scene and circumstances surrounding the death, investigators have ruled out any immediate signs of foul play. However, the department remains committed to ensuring a comprehensive investigation and will continue to examine all aspects of the case as necessary.
