Greece accedes to the 1997 Convention on the Recognition of Qualifications concerning Higher Education in the European Region

On 13 September 2024, Greece acceded to the Convention on the Recognition of Qualifications concerning Higher Education in the European Region (Lisbon, 11 April 1997).

The instrument was accompanied by the following reservation and declaration:

"ln accordance with Article Xl.7 of the Convention on the Recognition of Qualifications concerning Higher Education in the European Region, the Hellenic Republic declares that it shall not apply Article Vl.3 of the Convention.

ln accordance with Article II.2 and IX.2of the Convention on the Recognition of Qualifications concerning Higher Education in the European Region, the Hellenic Republic declares that the competent national authority is the Hellenic National Academic Recognition and Information Centre (Hellenic NARIC - DOATAP)." In accordance with the terms of its Article XI.2, the Convention will enter into force with respect to Greece on the first day of the month following the expiration of the period of one month after the date of deposit of its instrument, that is to say on 1 November 2024.
